187 Separate confinement conditions (1) This section applies if separate confinement is imposed on a detainee as an administrative penalty for a disciplinary breach. (2) The director-general must ensure that— (a) a doctor appointed under section 21 (Doctors—health service appointments) examines the detainee as soon as practicable after the separate confinement starts and ends; and (b) a corrections officer monitors the detainee’s condition in separate confinement at least daily.
