185 Reparation
(1) This section applies if a relevant presiding officer finds that—
(a) a charge for a disciplinary breach by a detainee is proven; and
(b) a person (the injured person) suffered loss as a direct result of
the breach.
(2) The relevant presiding officer may direct the detainee to make
reparation for the injured person’s loss by payment of an amount or
otherwise.
(3) An amount directed to be paid must not exceed—
(a) $100; or
(b) if a higher amount is prescribed by regulation—the prescribed
amount.
(4) An amount payable under a direction is payable out of any money
held by the director-general for the detainee.
