176 Director-general’s powers after further inquiry
(1) After completing a review under section 175, the director-general
may—
(a) confirm the decision under review; or
External review of inquiry decisions Division 10.3.4
(b) exercise any function of a presiding officer under section 171 in
relation to the accused, either by—
(i) amending the decision under review; or
(ii) setting aside the decision under review and making a
decision in substitution for the decision set aside.
(2) The director-general must give the accused prompt written notice of
the director-general’s decision under this section, including—
(b) a statement about the effect of division 10.3.4.
