16 Director-general directions
(1) The director-general may give directions in relation to a detainee.
(2) Without limiting subsection (1), the director-general may give a
direction that the director-general considers necessary and reasonable
in relation to any of the following:
(a) the welfare or safety of the detainee or anyone else;
(b) security or good order at a correctional centre;
(c) ensuring compliance with any requirement under this Act or
another territory law.
(3) A direction may be given orally or in writing and may apply to a
particular detainee or 2 or more detainees.
(4) A direction by the director-general under this Act, or anything done
under the direction, is not invalid because of a defect or irregularity
in or in relation to the direction.
