159 Disciplinary charge
To charge a detainee with a disciplinary breach, the presiding officer
must give the detainee written notice of the charge (a charge notice),
including details of the following:
(a) the disciplinary breach charged;
(b) a brief statement of the conduct to which the charge applies and
when, or the period during which, it happened or is alleged to
have happened;
(c) the option of having the charge dealt with by consent under
division 10.3.1 (Disciplinary action—with accused’s consent);
(d) the election available under section 167 (Disciplinary breach
admitted by accused) to accept the disciplinary action proposed
by the presiding officer;
(e) the disciplinary action the presiding officer believes, on
reasonable grounds, would be appropriate if the charge were
dealt with under section 168 (Presiding officer’s powers—
breach admitted by accused).
