125 Searches—use of corrections dogs
(1) The director-general may direct a corrections officer to use a
corrections dog to assist the officer in conducting a search under this
(2) Without limiting subsection (1), the director-general may give the
direction if the director-general believes, on reasonable grounds, that
the assistance of the dog would minimise the intrusiveness of the
search of a detainee by the officer.
(3) The corrections officer and corrections dog may enter, and remain at
any place, to assist in the conduct of a search under this part.
