114 Strip searches—presence of corrections officers (1) A strip search of a detainee must be done— (a) by a corrections officer of the same sex as the detainee; and (b) in the presence of 1 or more other corrections officers each of whom must be of the same sex as the detainee. (2) However, the number of corrections officers present during the search must be no more than necessary and reasonable to ensure the search is carried out as safely and effectively as possible.
