Tasmania regulation
This order declares that, for the purposes of Part 6 of the Corrections Act 1997, Part 8A of Victoria’s Corrections Act 1986 is an ‘interstate law’ (s3). It takes effect when its making is notified in the Gazette (s2). Mechanically, that means the Commonwealth Part 6 regime will treat the named Victorian provision as applying across jurisdictions, and the Department of Justice and Industrial Relations is the administering agency.
