### 80 Warrants for return of prisoners to prison
> > (1) The Board may, by warrant signed by the chairperson of the Board or the secretary of the Board at the chairperson’s direction, authorise a police officer to apprehend a prisoner who has been released on parole and return the prisoner to prison if at any time –
> >
> > > > (a) the Board has reasonable cause to suspect any act or omission on the part of the prisoner who has been released on parole that, in its opinion, may justify the revocation of the prisoner's parole order; or
> > >
> > > > (b) for any other reason the Board considers it proper to do so.

> > (2) The Board may exercise its powers under [subsection (1)](#GS80@Gs1@EN) without holding a meeting.
>
> > (3) The chairperson of the Board, in the same circumstances as the Board may act under [subsection (1)](#GS80@Gs1@EN) and if the chairperson considers that circumstances exist that require action to be taken urgently, may issue a warrant authorising a police officer to apprehend a prisoner and return the prisoner to prison.
>
> > (4) On the issue of a warrant under this section for the apprehension of a prisoner on parole, the prisoner's parole is extended for a period equal to a period commencing on the day on which the warrant is issued and ending on the day on which it is executed.

> > (5) If a prisoner is returned to prison after the execution of a warrant against the prisoner under [subsection (1)](#GS80@Gs1@EN) , the following provisions apply:
> >
> > > > (a) the Board, within 14 days after the prisoner is so returned to prison, is to give the prisoner an opportunity to be heard;
> > >
> > > > (b) the Board may, after complying with [paragraph (a)](#GS80@Gs5@Hpa@EN) , exercise in relation to the prisoner the powers conferred on it by [subsection (1)](#GS79@Gs1@EN) of [section 79](#GS79@EN) as if he or she were a prisoner to whom that subsection applies;
> > >
> > > > (c) if the Board revokes the prisoner's release on parole pursuant to [section 79(1)](#GS79@Gs1@EN) , the provisions of [section 79(5)](#GS79@Gs5@EN) apply to the prisoner accordingly.
