### 44 Alteration of leave permits > > (1)  The Director, in writing, may alter a leave permit – > > > > > > (a) by extending the period for which the permit is to remain in force; or > > > > > > > (b) by varying the conditions or restrictions to which the permit is subject. > > > (2)  As soon as possible after altering a leave permit, the Director is to give notice of the alteration to both the person to whom the permit is granted and the custodian (if any). > > > (3)  For the purposes of [subsection (2)](#GS44@Gs2@EN) , the giving to any person of a copy of a leave permit as altered is taken to be sufficient notice of the alteration.
