### 41 Authorisation to be absent from prison > > (1) The Director may authorise a prisoner or detainee to be absent from a prison for any reason. > > > (2) The authorisation of the Director is subject to the condition that the prisoner or detainee is to be accompanied by a correctional officer, probation officer or any other person authorised by the Director at all times during which the prisoner or detainee is absent from a prison. > > > (3) The authorisation of the Director for a person to be absent from a prison does not affect the sentence that the person is serving.
