### 27 Removal of prisoners and detainees into control of Director
> > (1) Subject to [subsection (3)](#GS27@Gs3@EN) and to any order of a court to the contrary, a correctional officer or police officer who is present when an order is made resulting in a person being made a prisoner or detainee is to, immediately after the making of the order, take the prisoner or detainee into custody and control and remove the prisoner or detainee as soon as practicable into the custody and control of the Director.

> > (2) A police officer who has the custody and control of a prisoner or detainee referred to in [subsection (1)](#GS27@Gs1@EN) is to assist in removing the prisoner or detainee into the custody or control of the Director.
>
> > (3) If it is impracticable to remove a prisoner or detainee immediately to a prison, the correctional officer, police officer or other person having the custody and control of the prisoner or detainee may temporarily keep the prisoner or detainee at some other suitable place.
