### 24 Prohibition against bringing unauthorised articles and things into prisons
> > (1) A person who brings into a prison an article or thing that the Director has not authorised to be brought into the prison is guilty of an offence.
> >
> > Penalty: Fine not exceeding 20 penalty units or imprisonment for a term not exceeding 12 months.

> > (2) A correctional officer who finds a person contravening [subsection (1)](#GS24@Gs1@EN) may detain that person pending the arrival of a police officer.

> > (3) A police officer may arrest without warrant a person who the police officer reasonably believes has contravened [subsection (1)](#GS24@Gs1@EN) .

> > (4) A person arrested under [subsection (3)](#GS24@Gs3@EN) is to be brought before a court as soon as practicable.
