40 Separation of classes of prisoners The General Manager of a custodial correctional facility must ensure that, to the extent it is practicable: (a) sentenced prisoners are kept separate from other prisoners; and (b) male prisoners are kept separate from female prisoners; and

Correctional Services Act 2014 23 (c) youth prisoners are kept separate from adult prisoners. Note for section 40 Section 163(2)(b) requires that sheriff's detainees who are being accommodated at a custodial correctional facility be kept separate from prisoners.
