83 Transitional provision for retirement benefits

(1)  Regulations of a kind referred to in section 81 (1) may provide for continuing entitlements under the Retirement Benefits Act 1982 of a person who –

(a) has been appointed as a member of the Commission's staff under section 81B of the Public Service Act 1922 of the Commonwealth; and

(b) immediately before that appointment was an employee within the meaning of the Retirement Benefits Act 1982 –

and for the continuing application, as may be prescribed, of the Retirement Benefits Act 1982 to that person.

(2)  Regulations in force because of subsection (1) have effect accordingly.
