Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

This is a formal proclamation by the Governor‑General setting 1 September 2007 as the start date for Schedule 2 of the Corporations (NZ Closer Economic Relations) and Other Legislation Amendment Act 2007.

What it does:

Activates specific provisions: It triggers the legal commencement of Schedule 2 (rather than letting it start automatically when the Act received Royal Assent)
Staggered implementation: Parliament often allows different parts of complex laws to start on different dates; this fixes the date for Schedule 2 specifically
Who it affects: Businesses and regulators waiting for these particular amendments to take effect

Important context: This document only deals with timing—it does not contain the actual rule changes. Those are found in Schedule 2 of the parent Act itself.
