40 Hearing in public except in certain cases
(1) Subject to subsection (2), a hearing must be in public.
(2) If a coroner is of the opinion that it is desirable in the public interest
or in the interests of justice to do so, the coroner may, by order—
(a) direct that a hearing or part of it must take place in private and
give directions about the people who may be present; and
(b) give directions prohibiting or restricting the publication or
disclosure of evidence whether or not a hearing has been held.
(3) A person commits an offence if the person engages in conduct that
contravenes an order.
