24 Reconsideration of decisions (1) Where— (a) a coroner refuses to give an authorisation under section 23 (1); and (b) the Chief Coroner receives a written application requesting that the coroner who refused to give the authorisation be requested to reconsider the decision; the Chief Coroner must, if satisfied that the applicant has sufficient interest in the decision, request the coroner to whom the application relates to reconsider the decision. (2) A request must set out the grounds on which the person relies. (3) The Chief Coroner must notify the applicant of any comments of a coroner in response to the request.
