Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

This Act authorizes the federal government to spend £23,350 from the national budget (the Consolidated Revenue Fund) on celebrations for the coronation of King Edward VII in 1902.

The money is allocated to three specific purposes:

£16,000 to send a contingent of Commonwealth mounted troops to participate in the coronation ceremonies
£5,500 to illuminate (light up) Commonwealth government buildings in each state capital
£1,850 to cover the Prime Minister's representation at the event, including travel and administrative costs

This is a straightforward appropriation Act (a law that authorizes spending money) for a one-off historical event. It creates no ongoing legal obligations or regulatory frameworks.
