sec.4 Main purpose of this Act

The main purpose of this Act is to establish a scheme for portability of long service leave in the contract cleaning industry. As part of the scheme, there are registration provisions for employers and workers and ways for calculating long service leave entitlements. Although an employer is required to be registered, the obligations under this Act apply to an employer whether or not the employer is registered under this Act. Generally, an entitlement under this Act only accrues to a worker who is registered under this Act. (sec.4-ssec.1) The main purpose of this Act is to establish a scheme for portability of long service leave in the contract cleaning industry. (sec.4-ssec.3) Although an employer is required to be registered, the obligations under this Act apply to an employer whether or not the employer is registered under this Act. (sec.4-ssec.4) Generally, an entitlement under this Act only accrues to a worker who is registered under this Act.
