8 When participation ceases to have effect

A person’s participation in this Scheme ceases to have effect: (a) if notification is given under paragraph 6(1)—from the date the person ceased to meet the eligibility criteria; or (b) if the Chief Executive Medicare decides that the person is not eligible to participate—from the date specified in the determination under section 7.

Note: Where a person entitled to a CAPS payment has died, payment will be made to the estate: see paragraph 10(1)(c).
