17 Surface rigidity
The surface of an infant sleep product on which the infant may lay (including any mattress of an infant sleep product) must comply with: (a) the Australian/New Zealand Standard for Methods of testing infant products—Method 1: Sleep Surfaces—Test for firmness; or (b) the mattress firmness requirements in the European Standard for Children’s furniture—Mattresses for cots and cribs—Safety requirements and test methods; or (c) the mattress firmness requirements in the US CPSC Standard.
