334 Service of documents
(1) Where by this Act a notice or other document is required to be
given to or served on a person, it may, subject to this Act, be given
or served:
(a) to or on an individual – as mentioned in subsection (2); or
(b) to or on a body corporate – as mentioned in subsection (3).
(2) In the case of an individual, the notice or other document may be
given or served:
(a) by delivering it to the individual personally; or
(b) by leaving it at the individual's place of residence last known
to the person who issued it with a person who apparently
resides there and who has, or apparently has, attained the
age of 16 years; or
(c) without limiting the other provisions of this subsection, where
the individual is the holder of a licence under Part 10, by
leaving it at a place at which the holder is authorised to carry
on the business to which the licence relates with a person who
is apparently employed at that place and who has, or
(d) by sending it by prepaid post addressed to the individual at the
place of residence referred to in paragraph (b) or, where the
individual is the holder of a licence under Part 10, a place
referred to in paragraph (c).
(3) In the case of a body corporate, the notice or other document may
be given or served:
(a) by delivering it to a person who is, or apparently is, concerned
in the management of the body corporate; or
(b) by leaving it at the registered office of the body corporate with
a person who is apparently employed there and who has, or
(c) without limiting the other provisions of this subsection, where
the body corporate is the holder of a licence under Part 10, by
leaving it at a place at which the holder is authorised to carry
on the business to which the licence relates with a person who
is apparently employed at that place and who has, or

(d) by sending it by prepaid post addressed to the body corporate
at its registered office or, where the body corporate is the
holder of a licence under Part 10, a place referred to in
paragraph (c).
(4) Nothing in this section affects:
(a) the operation of any other law of the Territory that authorises
the service of a document in any other way; or
(b) the power of a court to authorise service of a document in any
other way.
