304 Buyer may be compensated
Where a person buys or purports to buy goods from a pawnbroker
or second-hand dealer and title to the goods, as a matter of law,
either:
(a) does not pass to the buyer; or
(b) having passed to the buyer, revests in a person who was the
owner of the goods;
the buyer may recover from the pawnbroker or dealer in a court of
competent jurisdiction, the amount paid by the buyer to the
pawnbroker or dealer and any other costs reasonably incurred in
relation to the acquisition and loss of the goods.
