288 When goods may be redeemed
(1) Pawned goods may be redeemed:
(a) before the expiration of:
(i) one month; or
(ii) a period longer than one month agreed by the parties;

from the day on which the goods were pawned; and
(b) where the redemption period has expired, before the sale of
the goods.
(2) A provision in, or condition of, an agreement or arrangement that
purports to reduce the period referred to in subsection (1)(a)(i) has
no effect.
(3) An agreement under subsection (1)(a)(ii) may be made at any time
before the goods are sold.
