179 Dealer not entitled to indemnity by antecedent owner
(1) Subject to subsection (2), if a licensed dealer incurs any costs or
expenses because of the operation of this Part in respect of the
sale of a motor vehicle, the dealer is not entitled to be indemnified
in respect of those costs or expenses by any previous owner, and
any contract or agreement providing directly or indirectly for the
licensed dealer to be so indemnified is void to that extent.
(2) Subsection (1) does not apply to a contract or agreement providing
for a licensed dealer to be so indemnified if the previous owner is a
trade owner, a manufacturer, or a manufacturer's distributor.
