17 Offence to give misleading information or document
(1) A person commits an offence if:
(a) the Director requests information from, or asks a question of,
the person under section 14; and
(b) the person gives the Director information or an answer that is
false or misleading in a material particular.
(2) A person commits an offence if:
(a) the Director requests information from the person under
section 14; and
(b) the person gives the Director a document containing
information that is false or misleading in a material particular.
(3) Subsection (2) does not apply if the person, when giving the
document to the Director:
(a) draws the misleading aspect of the document to the Director's
attention; and

(b) to the extent to which the person can reasonably do so – gives
the Director the information necessary to remedy the
misleading aspect of the document.
