80E Information requirements
(1) This section applies if the registrar suspects on reasonable grounds
that a person—
(a) has information (the required information) reasonably required
by the registrar for the administration or enforcement of this Act
or an operational Act; or
(b) has possession or control of a document containing the required
information.
(2) The registrar may give the person a notice (an information
requirement) requiring the person to give the information, or produce
the document, to the registrar.
(3) The information requirement must be in writing and must include
details of the following:
(a) the identity of the person to whom it is given;
(b) why the information is required;
(c) the time by which the notice must be complied with;
(d) the operation of section 80G (Contravention of information
requirement).
(4) A person does not incur any civil or criminal liability only because
the person gives information, or produces a document, to the registrar
in accordance with an information requirement.
