58 With certain exceptions members of Parliament not to accept offices of profit under the Crown Except where express provision is made to the contrary by any Act or enactment other than this section, if any person while he is a member of the Council or the Assembly accepts any office or place of profit under the Crown other than an office as a responsible Minister of the Crown, he shall be guilty of an offence against this Act and shall be liable to a penalty of $100 for every week that he holds such office.
