#### 17C Notification of forfeiture 17C Notification of forfeiture > > (1) The relevant authority must give a notice of intention to forfeit relevant property (a forfeiture notice) in accordance with this section. > > > (2) The relevant authority must, as soon as reasonably practicable, give the notice— > > > > > (a) to each person the relevant authority knows or reasonably suspects has a beneficial interest in the relevant property, and > > > > > (b) no later than 28 days before the end of the relevant period. > > > (3) The notice must include the following— > > > > > (a) a description of the relevant property, > > > > > (b) the date on which the relevant period will end, > > > > > (c) the way in which, and time within which, a person may apply for an exclusion order. > > > (4) Failure to give a notice in accordance with this section does not affect the forfeiture of relevant property under this Division if reasonable steps were taken to give the notice. > > **s 17C:** Ins 2022 No 55, Sch 1\[7\].
