228 Keeping things for further period
(1) This section applies if a thing has been seized by a police officer
under this part and a proceeding in relation to which the thing might
provide evidence has not begun before the end of—
(a) 60 days after the day of the seizure; or
(b) a period previously stated in an order of an issuing officer under

officer may keep the thing for a further period.

(3) Before making the application, the police officer must—
(a) take reasonable steps to discover whose interests would be
affected by the keeping of the thing; and
(b) if it is practicable to do so, tell each person the officer believes
to be such a person of the proposed application.
(4) The provisions of this part relating to the issue of search warrants
apply, with any necessary changes, to the making of an order under
