217 Use of equipment to examine or process things
(1) The executing police officer, or a person assisting, for a search
warrant may bring into or onto the premises any equipment
reasonably necessary to examine or process a thing found at the
premises to decide whether it may be seized under the warrant.
(2) The executing police officer or a person assisting may operate
equipment already at the premises to carry out an examination or
processing if the officer believes on reasonable grounds that—
(a) the equipment is suitable; and
(b) the examination or processing may be carried out without
damaging the equipment or thing.
