212 Use of force and availability of assistance in executing search warrant (1) Force may be used in executing a search warrant as follows: (a) by an executing police officer—force against people and things may be used that is necessary and reasonable in the circumstances; (b) by a person assisting who is a police officer—force against people and things may be used that is necessary and reasonable in the circumstances; (c) by a person assisting who is not a police officer—force against things may be used that is necessary and reasonable in the circumstances. (2) An executing police officer may obtain the assistance in executing the warrant that is necessary and reasonable in the circumstances.
