203 Applying for search warrants by telephone or other
electronic means
(1) A police officer may apply to an issuing officer for a search warrant
by telephone, fax or other electronic means—
(a) in an urgent case; or
(b) if the delay that would happen if an application were made in
person would frustrate the effective execution of the warrant.
(2) The application—
(a) must include all information that would be required in an
application under division 13.2 (Search warrants—general) for
a search warrant; and

(b) may, if necessary, be made before the information is sworn.
(3) The issuing officer may require—
(a) communication by voice to the extent that it is practicable in the
circumstances; and
(b) any further information.
