178 Examinations—consequential powers about documents
(1) If a document is given to an authorised investigator under an
examination notice, the investigator may—
(a) take possession of, and make copies of, or take extracts from,
the document; and
(b) keep the document for the period necessary for this Act.
(2) If an authorised investigator keeps a document given to the
investigator under an examination notice, the investigator must, if
asked by a person who would be entitled to inspect the document if it
was not in the investigator’s possession—
(a) give the person a copy of the document certified by the
investigator in writing to be a true copy of the document; or
(b) at any reasonable time, allow the person to inspect the
document, make copies of it or take extracts from it.
