Commonwealth legislation
This instrument, commencing 1 October 2019, approves four specific facilities (Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth) as 'Customs places' for the examination of international mail under the Customs Act and repeals the 2009 CEO approval. It is made under subsection 183UA(2) of the Act. The listed facilities and the site-selection for Customs mail examinations are directly affected because the instrument specifies where those examinations may be carried out.
