### 2 Commencement
> > (1) [Parts 1](#HP1@EN) and [7](#HP7@EN) commence on the day on which this Act receives the Royal Assent.

> > (2) The remaining provisions of this Act commence on the first day after the end of the period of 12 months after the day on which the *Competition Policy Reform Act 1995* of the Commonwealth received the Royal Assent, but, if the commencement of those provisions is postponed under [subsection (3)](#GS2@Gs3@EN) , they commence on the day to which their commencement has been postponed (or the later or latest of those days).

> > (3) The commencement of the provisions referred to in [subsection (2)](#GS2@Gs2@EN) may be postponed from time to time by proclamation, but any such postponement cannot be effected after the provisions have commenced.
