#### 17 Committees 17 Committees > > (1) The Minister may, by order in writing, establish such regional, local, special or other advisory committees as the Minister thinks fit. > > > (2) The functions of a committee are to exercise the functions specified in respect of it in the instrument establishing it, or in a subsequent instrument executed by the Minister, and to advise the Minister on such matters as may be referred to it by the Minister. > > > (3) The Minister shall appoint one of the members of a committee to be the chairperson of the committee. > > > (4) The chairperson of a committee may be referred to as the chairman or chairwoman, as the case may require. > > > (5) A member of a committee (other than a public servant) is entitled to be paid such remuneration (including travelling and subsistence allowances) as the Minister may from time to time determine in respect of the member. > > > (6) Schedule 2 applies to a committee.
