Plain English Summary

2/10 complexity

These Regulations set two numeric thresholds under the Community Justice Centre Act 2005. They prescribe 30,000 "monetary units" as the amount that allows the Director to act (s 20(2)(a)) and as the maximum amount the Centre may determine (s 22(1)), and they commence when Part 3 of the Construction Contracts (Security of Payments) Legislation Amendment Act 2019 commences. This affects parties to disputes before the Centre: the Director decides whether to act and disputing parties bear the compliance and financial consequences within the prescribed limit.
