 1  Name

  This instrument is the Commonwealth Electoral (Logo Requirements) Determination 2026.

2  Commencement

 (1) Each provision of this instrument specified in column 1 of the table commences, or is taken to have commenced, in accordance with column 2 of the table. Any other statement in column 2 has effect according to its terms.

3  Authority

  This instrument is made under subsection 126(2AB) of the Commonwealth Electoral Act 1918.

4  Schedules

  Each instrument that is specified in a Schedule to this instrument is amended or repealed as set out in the applicable items in the Schedule concerned, and any other item in a Schedule to this instrument has effect according to its terms.

5  Definitions

  In this instrument:

Act means the Commonwealth Electoral Act 1918.

CMYK (short for Cyan‑Magenta‑Yellow‑Black) is a colour model used in printing.

6  Requirements for a logo set out in an application

  For the purposes of paragraph 126(2AA)(b) of the Act, a logo set out in an application must:

 (a) be a vector graphic in electronic format; and

 (b) be 100% black in a CMYK colour space; and

 (c) be contained within a frame of 10 mm by 10 mm; and

 (d) be able to be reproduced correctly within a frame of 7 mm by 7 mm; and

 (e) not include any of the following features:

 (i) live text;

 (ii) transparency or overprinting;

 (iii) custom halftone, transfer curve or colour profile settings; and

 (f) be a PDF file, of less than 5 megabytes, that complies with International Standard ISO 32000‑1:2008 Document management—Portable document format—Part 1: PDF 1.7, published by the International Organization for Standardization, as in force or existing at the time this instrument commences.
