At the end of the person’s term of office or on resignation— the person is entitled to be appointed to an office in the public service at a salary level not less than the current salary level of an office equivalent to the office the person held before being appointed as the member; and the person’s service as the member is to be regarded as service of a like nature in the public service for deciding the person’s rights as a public service officer. s 17 amd 2024 No. 33 s 183 sch 1 pt 1 (sec.17-ssec.1) This section applies if— a person is appointed as a member; and the person resigns the person’s role as a public service officer in order to accept the appointment.
