#### 16 Discretionary functions—rescue services for other mines 16 Discretionary functions—rescue services for other mines > The mines rescue company may (but is not obliged to) exercise the following additional functions in connection with mines (other than underground coal mines in the State)— > > > (a) providing rescue services and facilities at those mines, including rescue equipment (such as breathing apparatus), > > > (b) providing training courses in connection with mine safety and emergency procedures at those mines (including, for example, fighting fires and rescuing mine workers and others who are trapped in those mines).
