New South Wales act
This Act cancels earlier coal‑acquisition and coal‑ownership laws by repealing the Coal Acquisition Act 1981 (and its compensation and re‑acquisition instruments) and the Coal Ownership (Restitution) Act 1990, thereby removing the statutory powers and associated compensation arrangements those instruments created. Most of the Act begins on assent but the repeals in section 4 and Schedule 2 start by proclamation, giving the Executive timing discretion; the Act then self‑repeals after all provisions commence (s2(1)–(3); s4; s5(1)–(2)).
