sch.6-sec.46 Chairperson of board
The chairperson of the board is to be elected by the board. The rules may provide that, in the alternative, the chairperson is to be elected at a general meeting of the co-operative. If no chairperson is elected or the chairperson is not present within 15 minutes after the time fixed for holding the meeting or is unwilling to act as chairperson of the meeting, the directors present may choose one of their number to be chairperson of the meeting until the chairperson attends and is willing to act as chairperson. The chairperson may be removed, and a new chairperson elected, by: ordinary resolution of the board, unless paragraph (b) applies; or ordinary resolution at a general meeting, if these rules provide that the chairperson is elected at a general meeting of the co-operative.
