sec.579 Bringing, or intervening in, proceedings on behalf of co-operative
(cf Corporations Act s 236 (1) ) A person may bring proceedings on behalf of a co-operative, or intervene in any proceedings to which a co-operative is a party for the purpose of taking responsibility on behalf of the co-operative for those proceedings, or for a particular step in those proceedings (for example, compromising or settling them), if— the person is— a member, former member, or person entitled to be registered as a member, of the co-operative or of a related corporation; or an officer or former officer of the co-operative; or the Registrar; and the person is acting with leave granted under section 580 . (cf Corporations Act s 236 (2) ) Proceedings brought on behalf of a co-operative may be brought in the co-operative’s name. (sec.579-ssec.1) (cf Corporations Act s 236 (1) ) A person may bring proceedings on behalf of a co-operative, or intervene in any proceedings to which a co-operative is a party for the purpose of taking responsibility on behalf of the co-operative for those proceedings, or for a particular step in those proceedings (for example, compromising or settling them), if— the person is— a member, former member, or person entitled to be registered as a member, of the co-operative or of a related corporation; or an officer or former officer of the co-operative; or the Registrar; and the person is acting with leave granted under section 580 . (sec.579-ssec.2) (cf Corporations Act s 236 (2) ) Proceedings brought on behalf of a co-operative may be brought in the co-operative’s name.
- (a) the person is— (i) a member, former member, or person entitled to be registered as a member, of the co-operative or of a related corporation; or (ii) an officer or former officer of the co-operative; or (iii) the Registrar; and
- (i) a member, former member, or person entitled to be registered as a member, of the co-operative or of a related corporation; or
- (ii) an officer or former officer of the co-operative; or
- (iii) the Registrar; and
- (b) the person is acting with leave granted under section 580 .
- (i) a member, former member, or person entitled to be registered as a member, of the co-operative or of a related corporation; or
- (ii) an officer or former officer of the co-operative; or
- (iii) the Registrar; and
