#### 520 Appointment of investigators 520 Appointment of investigators > > (1) The designated authority may appoint a person or persons to hold an inquiry into the affairs of a co-operative if the designated authority considers it is desirable to do so for the protection or otherwise in the interests of the public or of members or creditors of the co-operative. > > > (2) The designated authority may vary the terms of appointment of an investigator if the investigator agrees to the variation. > > > (3) In the course of an inquiry into the affairs of a co-operative, an investigator may inquire into the affairs of a subsidiary of the co-operative that, if the subsidiary were the co-operative, would be affairs of the co-operative. > > > (4) An inquiry into the affairs of a subsidiary of a co-operative may be conducted as if the subsidiary were the co-operative.
