#### 252 Annual general meetings 252 Annual general meetings (cf Corporations Act s 250N) > > (1) A co-operative must hold its initial annual general meeting within 18 months after its registration. > > > > Maximum penalty—$1,000 or imprisonment for 3 months, or both. > > > (2) A co-operative must hold an annual general meeting at least once in each calendar year after its initial annual general meeting and within 5 months after the end of its financial year. > > > > Maximum penalty—$1,000 or imprisonment for 3 months, or both. > > > (3) An offence based on subsection (1) or (2) is an offence of strict liability. > > > (4) An annual general meeting is to be held in addition to any other meetings held by a co-operative in the year.
