sec.49 Power to require information
This section applies if an inspector reasonably believes— an offence against this Act has just been committed; and a person may be able to give information about the offence. The inspector may require the person to give information about the offence. When making the requirement, the inspector must warn the person it is an offence to fail to give the information, unless the person has a reasonable excuse. The person must give the information, unless the person has a reasonable excuse. Maximum penalty—50 penalty units. It is a reasonable excuse for an individual to fail to give information if complying with the requirement might tend to incriminate the individual.
