51A Motor accident claims—respondent to identify and notify
others
(1) If a respondent to a motor accident claim knows of anyone else
(a relevant person) against whom the claimant may be able to begin
a proceeding based on the claim, the respondent must, not later than
7 days after the day the respondent receives the notice of claim—
(a) give a copy of the notice of claim to the relevant person; and
(b) tell the claimant, in writing, about the relevant person, including
a short written explanation of why the respondent believes that
the person may be a relevant person.
(2) If the respondent is a child, the respondent’s parent or legal guardian
may comply with subsection (1) for the respondent.
