402 Lessee to give notice of ejectment to lessor (1) This section applies to a lessee of premises against whom a proceeding for ejectment is begun. (2) The lessee must give notice of the proceeding to the lessor or the lessor’s agent immediately after being served with the originating process for the proceeding. (3) A lessee who contravenes subsection (2) is liable to the lessor for any damage suffered by the lessor because of the failure. (4) This section does not— (a) apply to a lessee who holds the premises leased under— (i) a residential tenancy agreement under the Residential
